Classic Dress is $39.99

Target and Gilt Group have teamed up to do a sort of online pop-up shop for the new Tucker for Target line (and a few other new lines that I don’t really care about)—the designer Gaby Basoro’s classic, simple style should translate easily into an affordable line. She seems to focus much more on pattern and cut then expensive embellishment or fabrics.

The sale starts this Friday, August 20th at noon. TGIF it up.

Danksin Now – High Impact Sports Bra $10 (each) at Walmart

I’m not a fan of Walmart, but I’m also not a fan of running (unlike my dear friend SDV). But both keep working their way back into my life. I’ve started my morning runs again since I saw a photo of me in a bathing suit in PR and freaked out—apparently the cross trainer just isn’t cutting it. Plus the view of Manhattan from the Williamsburg Bridge has become as addictive as my morning coffee.

The downside is I’ve realized how old and shot my sports bras are (I was spoiled for three years by a gym that provided workout gear). I found these padded ones mentioned on a Women’s Health blog, but the little moralist in me couldn’t bring herself to order one from big, evil anti-labor Walmart even if they are using green trucks and changing their hiring practices. But finally, the vain, cheap part of me won out—she usually does… because I’m American after all.

Two bras are on their way. I’ll give a review when they arrive.

When did Nike hire Spartacus as a consultant? And where was the press release?
